View from room, Hotel Palladium, Mykonos, Greece

For the final leg of our Greek honeymoon we headed to the island of Mykonos. When we arrived in Mykonos off our ferry, we were met by representatives of the hotel we’d booked who told us that there was a problem with the air conditioning in our room, and they were putting us up at the fancier Palladium Boutique Hotel for our first night.

2023 update: The Palladium Boutique Hotel has been renovated significantly since our stay. In particular, the rooms are very different. I hope it’s still helpful, and I recommend checking out the hotel’s website for the most up to date info.

Our room at the Palladium Boutique Hotel was beautiful, with a four poster bed and a fancy marble bathroom.

We had a nice balcony with gorgeous views of the water. We loved sitting out here with a book or beverage and enjoying the view.

Another big benefit of the Palladium Boutique Hotel is its location right near Platis Gialos, one of Mykonos’ most popular beaches. We didn’t have a car in Mykonos (which was a mistake, in hindsight), and so we wouldn’t have been able to check out this beach but for our unexpected hotel stay here.

The Palladium isn’t actually located right on the beach, but it’s only about a 5-10 minute walk away, and we enjoyed spending time on this beautiful beach.

There’s also a nice pool area at the Palladium Boutique Hotel.

Hotel restaurants don’t tend to have a reputation for great food, but we really enjoyed our meal at the Palladium’s restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was warm and friendly, and it was lovely dining al fresco overlooking the pool area. It was actually of the very best meals we had in Greece.

Although the dinner was great, the breakfast buffet was just about the only thing I found lacking about Palladium Boutique Hotel. It was probably the least impressive breakfast we had in Greece. It’s hard for me to fully assess Hotel Palladium, since we didn’t pay their room rates and I suspect their average rates are quite a bit more than I typically pay. Still, I recommend the hotel (especially for beach-goers: in addition to Platys Gialis, there are a couple other beaches within walking distance) and if you’re looking for a splurgier, more luxurious experience, I think you’d be very happy here. The hotel facilities are really lovely and they have the attentive service to match.
